NJ Pyramid Model: Promoting Social Emotional Competence in Infants & Toddlers

Montclair State University’s College of Education and Human Services/ Center for Autism and Early Childhood Mental Health (CAECMH) presents these free workshops for professionals who work with infants, toddlers and young children & their families at child care and early learning centers throughout the state of New Jersey.
NB: Lunch is not provided but participants are welcome to bring their own lunch.
The Pyramid Model provides guidance for early childhood educators, early intervention personnel, families and other professionals on the evidence-based practices for promoting young children’s healthy social/emotional development.
The model describes three tiers of intervention practice:
- Universal promotion for all children;
- Secondary preventions to address the intervention needs for children at risk of social emotional delays; and
- Tertiary interventions needed for children with persistent challenges.
