Since 1972, the Urban League of Hudson County (ULOHC) has been an effective agent of change in our community. We are a non-profit {501(c)3} organization with a dedicated staff of professionals providing services in education, mentorship, economic development, job placement, childcare, family counseling and programs for seniors.

Our Legacy

The ULOHC is one of 95 affiliates of the National Urban League (NUL), founded in 1910. The NUL is the premier social service and civil rights organization in the U.S., serving 300 communities across 35 states and the District of Columbia, impacting more than 2 million people nationwide.

The Urban League of Hudson County has a multicultural, multilingual staff that provides services in one of the most densely populated and ethnically diverse counties in the country. For working families and full-time students who live in Hudson County and meet the guidelines mandated by the state of New Jersey. This program can help you pay for childcare for infants to school-age children up to age thirteen (13), and children with special needs up to age nineteen (19).

The New Jersey Department of Human Services? Division of Family Development has implemented an automated child care tracking and attendance system call e-Child Care (ECC).

Grow NJ Kids, New Jersey?s Quality Rating Improvement System, is New Jersey?s program to raise the quality of child care and early learning across the state. Grow NJ Kids gives both child care and early learning programs resources to assess and improve their programs, while providing parents with information that allows them to evaluate the quality of programs and make the best choices for their child.
