Elaine Dawson
25 Years of Service
Supervisor – Family Support Center / Youth Education & Development
Elaine Dawson began at the Urban League of Hudson County Inc. In 1997 as a receptionist. Shortly after, her strong work ethic earned her a promotion to the Case Manager position in the New Jersey Cares for Kids program. After working in this position for six years, Ms. Dawson sought to grow her program knowledge by working in various positions throughout the childcare subsidy department. Her drive for learning did not end there. In 2005 Ms. Dawson decided to pursue her academic goal of attending college. Ms. Dawson credits the support she received from members of the ULOHC family as a contributing factor in this decision. In 2008 she received her bachelor’s degree in Public Policy and Urban Studies from Saint Peter’s University and followed it with a master’s degree in Social Work in 2011. Currently, Ms. Dawson serves as the Program Supervisor for Family Support Services and Education and Youth Development. Ms. Dawson is the proud mother of 3 daughters, Tonya, Rochelle, and Danielle, and grandmother of 7 children, Jazmine, Daniel, Reggie, Marlon, Joshua, Kylie, and Riley. Ms. Dawson hopes to be an example of advancement for her family.
